Quarrystone House Bed and Breakfast on Salt Spring Island

Five country acres on the crest of a ridge, ocean and sunsets to the west, sheep pasture rolling away to the east. Kelly and Barry Kazakoff have been welcoming guests here since 1998, on land where stonecutters once quarried the flagstone that built the BC Parliament Buildings.

The guest rooms have their own building, apart from the main house, so you get complete privacy: a private entrance, an ensuite bathroom, a jetted tub, a fireplace, and a balcony or patio looking straight down the water at the sunset. A full three course country breakfast, cooked by a chef with thirty five years in restaurants, is served in the main house each morning.

Children are welcome, pets are welcome in select rooms, and the resident goats, sheep and Yeti the cat come free of charge.

Enjoy a private entrance and bathroom, a balcony or patio, with stunning ocean and sunset views. Full amenities provide for a gas fireplace, jetted jacuzzi tub, flatscreen tv, microwave, fridge and coffee-maker, all discretely blended into the decor. Complimentary robes and hairdryers are provided for your convenience. Rooms are located in a separate building from the main house for your privacy.

Kelly and her team were lovely, serving the most amazing breakfasts we could have asked for. On the last morning we had to leave really early for the ferry, so they left us to-go boxes in our fridge the night before. We stayed in the standalone unit, which felt really private and was perfect with our dog (as you can see in the photo, he enjoyed the view from the patio of the goats and sheep who walked past each day!). The mattress and bedding was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to go back one day.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, the space was clean and Kelly was very accommodating. The property itself is beautiful and expansive and the goats were a fun added touch. My wife, daughter and I just returned from a trip for my 30th birthday and we were floored and so pleased with everything. Kelly and Barry were the most amazing amazing hosts, the food was incredible and they definitely made us feel at home. Kelly, our gracious host, whipped up a fantasic gourmet breakfast comprised of homemade fresh croissants, cranberry muffins, yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, salmon/lox bagels, and eggs benidict. Even delicious danish as a bonus! You will not need another meal until dinner! Spectacular views, and waking up to say hello to their sheeps, goats, perhaps a super friendly dog. We highly recommend the Quarrystone. I am sure we will return!
